Youngstown band The Vindys are gearing up to join 80s icon Pat Benatar and her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo, as special guests on a nationwide tour.
The Vindys announced on their Facebook Page, saying "We are ALL FIRED UP to be out with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo on their US tour this summer!"

Akron area native creates horror film score, soundtrack featuring Northeast Ohio bands
Twelve Northeast Ohio bands make a splash in the soundtrack of the new horror film "Last Night at Terrace Lanes."
That's thanks to local musician Michael Weber, a guitarist, composer and record producer who created the original score for the new film, which premiered on Apple TV+ Jan. 16. Not only has he created the motion picture score to go along with the film's scenes of action, suspense and terror, he's also showcased all Northeast Ohio bands for the soundtrack.

Jackie Popovec and The Vindys are coming home for a fundraiser for the Rich Center for Autism in Youngstown on Jan. 27. Rock the Rich fundraiser starts at 6 - 11 p.m. on Jan. 27 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Youngstown. In addition to a concert from The Vindys, there will be food, cocktails, raffles and an auctions.

The movie notably features a soundtrack of Ohio-based musical artists, including the Vindys, Jul Big Green and the Labra Brothers. Akron-area native Michael Weber composed the film's original score. The movie stars Francesca Capaldi (best known for her role in the Disney Channel sitcom Dog with a Blog); it premieres on Apple TV on Jan. 16.
Valley performers shine in year-end concerts
Maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t drive up expecting to buy a ticket at the door. The Vindys sold out the Live Nation venue. In addition to the Mahoning Valley faithful that were in attendance, the band has a growing following on the North Coast. The group sold out the Music Box Supper Club multiple times, but HOB is about three times larger, and a sellout there is the kind of thing that will get the attention of others in the music industry.
